ENGINEER’S INSTALLATION REPORT – COMBINED SOLID FUEL & GAS CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEM

Attended the property to carry out the installation of a new combined solid-fuel and gas-fired central heating system, incorporating a thermal store.

Installed and connected the solid-fuel boiler as the primary heat source, with the gas boiler integrated into the system to provide supplementary and backup heating when required.

Installed new copper header tanks and associated feed and expansion pipework. All primary heating pipework associated with the installation was completed using copper tube and suitable fittings.

Installed and connected the thermal store to provide hydraulic separation and effective management of the heat generated by the solid-fuel appliance. The system was configured to allow heat generated by the solid-fuel boiler to be transferred to and stored within the thermal store for distribution throughout the heating and hot water system as required.

The gas boiler was integrated into the installation to provide backup heat when the solid-fuel appliance is not in operation or when additional heat input is required.

Installed all necessary circulation pipework, pumps, controls, valves and safety provisions required for the correct operation of the combined heating system. Particular consideration was given to the safe operation of the solid-fuel appliance, including suitable feed and expansion arrangements and provision for the safe circulation and dissipation of heat.

On completion of the installation, all pipework and connections were visually inspected and tested. The system was filled, flushed and treated with suitable corrosion inhibitor before being fully tested and commissioned.

All pumps, controls and heat sources were operated and checked for correct function. The interaction between the solid-fuel boiler, thermal store and backup gas boiler was tested to confirm correct system operation.

The completed installation was left fully operational, with the system functioning correctly at the time of departure.

All works were carried out in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s installation instructions, current Building Regulations and applicable industry standards and regulations.
